Lorraine Lockwood is a cardiac rehabilitation nurse in the Wrexham Maelor hospital. My documentary will follow how the job affects the staff, the personal relationships with patients and the different sides of the job. I will shoot in the hospital, incorporating exterior and interior shots, as well as shots inside Lorraine’s home for a personal reflection. She has met many people, and seen some disturbing things in her job. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2011, and even through chemotherapy would turn up at the office to call and contact her patients. She has worked with people with serious mental health issues, who have threatened the lives of her and colleagues. But she also forms close relationships with people, and being so close to death, so often, has a huge affect on people – nurses.
